This video shows multi-tasking machining using OPEN MIND’s hyperMILL® to produce a medical rasp. This part has six-sided machining including turning, 2D milling, 3+2 milling, 5-axis milling, and automation via software linking of subsequent jobs, software transformations to reuse proven process, and machine automation for tailstock and part transfer functions. The part was machined on a Mazak Integrex I-150. This part would previously have been cut on two machines and three set-ups. The multi-tasking approach reduces labor and errors involved in multiple set-ups. Less
